Clinical Validation​

  • Virtual and Traditional Bocce Improves Mood With Physical Benefits — Virtual and traditional bocce improve positive mood and reduce negative feelings, while providing physical benefits to lower-limb muscles. Virtual bocce requires less space, making the activity more accessible, and “may enhance exercise adherence and overall function in space-limited settings.”
  • Bocce Develops Perceptual-Motor Ability and Object Control — As a manipulative target game, bocce has a dominant effect on cognitive activities, particularly on perceptual-motor ability and object control.
  • Positive Training Effect of Repeated Rolling Motions on Bocce Players — After performing upper-limb training, improvements were observed in the abduction of the throwing shoulder joint, in the extension and abduction of the non-throwing shoulder joint, and in the abduction of the throwing side hip.  Additionally, throwing distances significantly improved.
