Clinical Validation

  • Stimulates autobiographical memory through place-based visual cues — Viewing familiar locations such as hometowns, landmarks, or past travel destinations can trigger autobiographical memory recall. Place-based visual stimuli are widely used in reminiscence therapy to support memory retrieval and emotional engagement in older adults and individuals with dementia.
  • Supports guided reminiscence therapy and social interactionCaregiver-guided exploration of meaningful locations encourages storytelling, conversation, and reflection on life experiences. Reminiscence therapy interventions have been shown to improve mood, communication, and overall quality of life in older adults.
  • Digital mapping tools such as Google Street View can stimulate spatial memory and environmental recallResearch using Google Street View imagery has demonstrated improvements in spatial memory and environmental recognition when individuals view real-world locations through digital mapping platforms.
